UNDERSTANDING CLIENTS THROUGH THE LENS OF ADLERIAN PSYCHOLOGY
A 3 hour online CPD workshop
Are you a therapist, counsellor, or psychologist curious about Adlerian theory? Do you want to deepen your understanding of mental health struggles like anxiety, shame, and people-pleasing through the lens of inferiority?
Join me for a 3-hour CPD workshop where we’ll explore the key principles of Adlerian psychology and how to apply them directly in your clinical work.
What you'll learn:
-
Core Adlerian theory – including lifestyle, private logic, and feelings of inferiority, and how these shape a client’s unique patterns of relating and striving
-
Working with early memories – how to gently explore early recollections to uncover deeply held beliefs and a client’s “movement through life”
-
Using lifestyle theory in practice – learn how to identify four common life strategies (pleasing, moral superiority, control, and avoidance), uncover the fears behind them, and support clients to develop more flexible and connected ways of being
-
Social interest as a measure of mental health – what it means, how to identify it and why it’s central to healing and growth
-
Interactive case practice – reflect on real clinical work through an Adlerian lens in small groups
By the end of the training you'll have:
A solid understanding of the key principles of Adlerian psychology and how they apply to therapy
A framework for working with early memories to access clients’ beliefs and patterns
A new lens for working with anxiety, people-pleasing, shame, and perfectionism
Practical ways to integrate Adlerian tools into your existing modality
A 3-hour CPD certificate, and the option to rewatch the session via replay

"Adlerian therapy is fascinating, a totally different perspective than those I've studied so far. Judy is so passionate about it and explained it in a way that meant I could easily apply it to myself and my clients. Having a different frame of reference has been really useful and I'd recommend it to anyone who is curious."

ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Judy Potts — a therapist, mum, and content creator with a love for making psychology understandable and useful.
I studied psychology at university and have always been fascinated by understanding human behaviour. Along side my career in the charity sector I began my own therapy journey — and happened to work with an Adlerian therapist. I found the approach so helpful in my own life and I became really interested in Adler's work.
That experience led me to train for four years as an Adlerian therapist — and now I have a thriving private practice. I’m passionate about Adlerian psychology because it gets to the root of WHY we struggle in the way we do. It offers a clear, practical framework for change — and with its strong emphasis on belonging and social connection (what Adler called social interest), it stands apart from many mainstream self-help approaches.
Along side my work as a therapist , I also love communicating and teaching. Whether on Instagram, in webinars, or in CPD trainings like this one, my goal is always the same: to create spaces where learning feels practical relevant, and inspiring.
